This year one of my favorite wall-covering sources introduced a new and unique paper that caught my eye – and heart. It’s an embossed wall covering designed in partnership with the National Federation of the Blind and named Louis, after Louis Braille, who developed the alphabet system that enabled people to read with their fingers.
The wallpaper itself makes a beautiful and interesting pattern with texture for the aesthetics of any room. But there’s something else that makes it inherently comforting: It’s embossed with 30 words that represent qualities of the human spirit – such as courage, kindness, compassion, empathy, and love. Through touch, it brings a sense of connection.
I was moved by the notion of having such positive, meaningful words wrapped within a home every day. Subtle reminders to always be our best are exactly the type of hand-selected features I know all of my clients would love.
